Git for Schools¶
Free, open, offline-first lessons on Git and version control for Grades 8–12 — for classrooms with no computers, offline computers, a school network or the internet, and for self-learners anywhere.
Edition 0.3 — draft
Grade 8 is the most complete chapter. Grades 9–12 are full lessons that have not yet been tried in a classroom. The example curriculum mapping (Nepal's CDC) is a draft until the official syllabi are checked.
The whole book as a PDF
All lessons, teacher guides and the new book chapters are also available as one printable book: Teaching Version Control: A Foundation Book for Grades 8–12 (PDF). Start with the preface.
| Grade | Chapter | Big idea |

| 9 | Branch and Share | branches work in parallel; remotes let work travel |
| 10 | Team Workflows | teams need rules so work does not collide |
| 11 | Open-Source Contributor | you can improve software others also use |
| 12 | Engineering with Git | professional teams ship safely, repeatedly |
